I went for a walk on Halloween night and found Boo crying on the outskirts of a lot near some new build homes that no one had moved into yet. Halloween was near freezing and raining all day, so he was wet and shivering.I picked him up and he immediately cuddled, rubbed his face on me and made biscuits the entire 30ish minute walk back to my place! Those I asked told me that he had shown up earlier that day, following people and trying to get into their garages.I kept him for the night and got him all warm and snuggly. Although I was worried because he was very malnourished, wobbly and his personality was definitely not of a feral or farm cat!
Unfortunately, the next morning I brought him to the urgent care vet where they determined he wasn't microchipped and was only about 6-9 months old.
He needed some help!

Boo has had two vet visits so far. The urgent care had him started on vaccines, topical for fleas and ticks, ear medicine for his ear infection and mites, plus a blood test to make sure he was FeLV negative. They said he was dehydrated, but that didn't resolve itself over the weekend so I took him into my local vet instead that handles my cat Jace.It was there that my vet made it clear that Boo was a concerning case. He was extremely malnourished, dehydrated and his behavior was concerning- he is VERY loving but tends to space out and hyper focus on people, which isn't how a kitty his age should be acting! He also is very unbalanced and tends to wobble like someone might if they were drunk. So he received IV fluids, a thorough blood panel, an antibiotic shot for an abscess upon his foot and a follow up plan! He also is to be given any and all food- including special human food! Whatever gets him to eat!Boo might need more IV fluids for the next few weeks to keep him hydrated. Assuming he gains weight and strength, he also will need a follow up blood panel to see if some of the oddities in his blood resolve themselves. Of course, he'll need his booster shots and will be scheduled to be neutered once he's healthy enough for the surgery. If his unbalanced or spacey nature doesn't resolve itself, it means he may have suffered neurological damage while being out. This means he'll just be a special needs kitty that needs some extra TLC.
The money raised will go towards covering his medical costs. So far his treatment has cost about 800 dollars and I have calculated how much his final visit will be plus the neuter.
This doesn't include if he might need extra IV fluids, special visits or more treatments to get him to complete health. (Example: His paws need cleaning/have hard gunk stuck between some of his toes and I'm working on them slowly, but they might need a professional groomer's assistance.)
This also doesn't include the plethora of special cat/human food for the next month, kitty litter, toys, bedding, etc. So IF by chance I raise enough money above the goal, the extra will definitely be put towards that!
